Spring games are small samples of what to look forward to during the upcoming season. This was confirmed during the game between Leon and East Gadsden which provided a clear indication that Jaguars are in for an exciting season. The combination of QB Dentarrius Yon and WR Sammy Carter demonstrated that they will be one of the most lethal pair around the big bend. Stay tune this fall for more. Thursday night they hooked up for 4 touchdown and over 200 yards receiving . It was all coach Joey Striplin could do to hold back smiles at the performance.

The Leon Lions came into last night’s game missing six starters; mostly on offense. The Lions, lead by senior QB John Cary, but put up a valiant effort. The Lions match touchdowns throughout most of the game; leaning on the passing of Cary and the running of junior RB Parker Wilson. Both had good nights. The Lions also showcased a pair of brothers, DE Trey and Kyler Laing, who stayed on Yon all night. Coach Garrett Jahn shouldn’t be too disappointed with his team’s performance; since the team came within ten yards of possibly tying the game. The final score was 28-21
