Leon lineman Mack Helms commits to East Carolina

Leon offensive and defensive lineman Mack Helms has committed to East Carolina University.

junior in 2008. This year he is starting on both the offensive and defensive lines.

Helms chose East Carolina over Marshall, South Florida, Cincinnati, Southern Mississippi, Indiana and Iowa State. “He is a hard working kid that goes 100 mph every step,” Leon coach Bill Ragans said of Helms. “A big team player.”Ragans knows East Carolina head coach Skip Holtz, who was a graduate assistant at Florida State when Ragans played for the Seminoles in the late-1980s. I think the world of Skip,” Ragans said. “He runs a first-class operation and it’s a great decision for (Helms).”

  1. I’m a 4 year letterman – lettered both my freshman & sophmore years for Varsity in Texas Football – last two years I have lettered in Florida.

    Actually almost 6’4″
