Newly appointed Lincoln head coach Quinn Gray has his first win as a Trojan and It only took him about 40 days to snag the milestone.

“We’ve got a lot of work to do as a team,” said Gray. “Madison ain’t a team that will lay down, they’re pretty tough and physical. It was good to see our guys come out and fight hard for four quarters and get the victory.”

The Trojan offense got things going early with an early with a 1 yard rushing score mid-way through the 1st quarter. It didn’t take the Cowboys long to answer as Madison County reclaimed the lead on an 81 yard run.

Lincoln would respond at the tail end of the opening quarter as Kamari Morales grabbed a spectacular catch to give the Trojans a 14-8 lead that would hold until halftime. The second half saw two more Lincoln touchdowns to seal the victory. While Madison County managed to add another touchdown late to keep things interesting, this year’s Cowboys only feature 6 returning starters from last season’s state semifinalist team.
