2011 4Q COACH OF THE YEAR: ROBERT CRAFT – NORTH FLORIDA CHRISTIAN

At the conclusion of his first year as head coach, NFC alum Robert Craft found himself with more time than he had expected. The 2010 season saw the Eagles miss the state playoffs for the first time in 18 years… something Craft had not experienced even as a player at the school. Immediately after the season ending loss Craft and the Eagles went to work. It was the beginning of an amazing run.

NFC head coach Robert Craft was all smiles in Orlando last December at the Class 1A State Final. The Eagles obliterated Admiral Farragut 69-0 to claim the title.

North Florida Christian put together the most memorable season in school history under Craft’s leadership. Not only going undefeated but setting records as well. Armed with a talented defense, a versatile quarterback and plenty of skilled players, the Eagles marched to Orlando in dominating fashion. “Our goal was the same as it was last January.” Craft said after winning the state semi-final. “We don’t want to just be at the game (state championship). We want to finish it.”

2011 4Q NEW COACH OF THE YEAR: KYLER HALL – MACLAY

Anytime you take on the challenge of turning around a program you face obsticles and adversity. It’s another story entirely when that challenge is your first time. Although he is no stranger to the coaching profession with his father being an assistant at Hamilton County, Hall suddenly discovered that his biggest hurdle would be motivating players from a small undersized school to win.

Maclay Marauder head coach Kyler Hall claimed the North Florida Football League Championship in his first season. Hall will look to build upon his success in 2012.

“From spring ball on we set out with a goal and a mission. We had some rough times and some adversity but these kids stuck together.” Hall said after winning the North Florida Football League Championship over visiting Oak Hall. It was an amazing turnaround with a fitting end for the Marauders who suffered a dismal 1-9 2010 season. “We first wanted to get these kids confidence. It was something we lacked in the beginning… but the kids played their butts off and that’s what has us here today” said Hall.
