4Q GAMENIGHT Game of the Week: Jefferson County vs FAMU High

4Q-Gamenight-Title_JeffersonCo-vs-FAMUHigh_10-29

It’s another 4Q GAMENIGHT and 4Quartersonline.com made the trip out Monticello, FL at Death Valley field where the Jefferson County Tigers bested the FAMU High Baby Rattlers in a district 2 (1B) battle 37 – 12, to claim the 2010 district title. The Tigers were led by “Mr. Everything”, RB #20 DeVondrick Nealey, who is well on track for a 2,000 yard season. Jefferson County got plenty of use out of their feature back in Nealey on the ground, but the Tigers also used plenty of other weapons to seal the victory. Tiger WR #4 A. Footman and QB #1 L. Footman helped to light up the score board through the air, along with freshman RB #2 L. Robinson.

Trailing by just 6 points at the start of the 2nd half, FAMU High was looking a stellar defensive effort to slow down the Tigers and a great night of offense to steal a win. However, despite a positive effort by Baby Rattler RB #7 D. Harrison, who will lead the rushing attack, FAMU High was unable to gain any momentum against a stiff Jefferson County defense.

FINAL SCORE: Jefferson County 37 – FAMU High 12

4Q GAMENIGHT Game of the Week: Lincoln vs Leon

Lincoln_vs_Leon_10-22

4Quartersonline.com witnessed a “down-to-the-wire” thriller at Gene Cox Stadium, where the Lincoln Trojans slid by with a narrow win against their long time nemesis, the Leon Lions, 15 – 10. The rivalry between the two schools was at its highest point in recent years as both teams were vying for the top spot in district 3 (class 4A).

The Lions featured a strong effort QB #15 R. DeVore and WR’s J. Neloms and J. Colston-Greene who lead their offensive attack. Also in on the action for the Lions was RB #22 T. Longmire who put on a stellar performance. The Trojans responded with a solid offensive attack of their own with RB #32 J. Allen and WR #3 K. Daniels, who led the Trojans on Senior Night.

On a night filled with high emotions and plenty of tension, the outcome of this ball game came down to miss field goal attempts and late game heroics. Trojan WR #14 R. Andredes proved to be the deciding factor as he hauled in a 30 yard touchdown pass that would become the game winning score. The Lions tried to make the most of their next possession, but with under 1 minuet remaining, Leon could not find the end zone as their final pass attempt was batted away by Lincoln defenders, sealing the win for the Trojans.

Final Score: Lincoln 15 – Leon 10

4Q GAMENIGHT Game of the Week: FAMU High vs East Gadsden

FAMUHigh_vs_EGadsden_10-15After an exciting first half the FAMU High Baby Rattlers have upset the East Gadsden Jaguars 26 – 20. The Baby Rattlers used an effective rushing attack led by RB #7 D. Harrison along with a big interception by the Baby Rattler defense in the 2nd quarter, that set up the go ahead score. After many failed attempts, East Gadsden tried to stifle the FAMU High running game in the second half, but the Jaguar offense was unable to gain any rhythm.

East Gadsden managed to make things interesting late in the 4th quarter. After a clock eating FAMU High scoring drive, The Jaguars drove nearly the length of the field in a matter of seconds to come within a touchdown. The ensuing onside kick was recovered by FAMU high and ended East Gadsden’s hopes of a late rally.

FINAL SCORE: FAMU HIGH 26 – EAST GADSDEN 20

Lincoln falls to Madison County, 27 -13 in mistake filled ballgame

The Lincoln Trojans were their on worst enemy Thursday night falling to an undefeated Madison County Cowboy team. The Cowboys jumped out to an early (19-0) lead, directed by quarterback #8 Kelvin Singletary and the power running of fullback #9 Tommy Young. Madison County defenders dominated the Trojans all over the field and were lead by linebacker #7 LePardre Stevens and and defensive back #20 Marty McDaniels. With an intense pass rush and tight man-to-man coverage the Cowboys forced the Trojans to throw 4 interceptions.

Later in the second half, Lincoln seemed to be a different ball club by slowing down the Cowboy ground game and forcing 2 turnovers and several penalties. Late in third quarter the Trojans seem to catch fire when Cowboy quarterback Kelvin Singletary was sacked and fell hard on his lower leg. Singletary ended up leaving the game and didn’t return. On Lincoln’s next two posessions the they scored twice making the score 19-13 The spark that would get Lincoln close to the Madison County lead would end as quickly as it began. Lead by freshman QB #14 Kendle Randolph, the Cowboy’s ground attack helped them to hold on to the lead and seal their 7th win on the season with a 27-13 victory.

FINAL SCORE: LINCOLN 13 – MADISON 27
