NFC helmetWith a strong sense of urgency NFC Head Coach Robert Kraft paced around the Eagles practice on one of the hottest afternoons in May. Keeping a watchful eye on each 5 minute segment of the up-tempo session, Kraft was immersed in the foot-work and eye-movement of senior quarterback Matt Dobson. Kraft’s focus on the little things has had an effect on his players as well. “We have about 19 seniors this year and they’ve been working hard since Christmas”, Kraft said. “We’ve had a great off-season. And I contribute a lot of that to our seniors. This group has gotten a taste of what it takes to win it all.”

After a 6-4 season that saw North Florida Christian miss the playoffs for the first time since 1991, the Eagles were obviously more than ready to get back to work this spring. “When we lost our final game of the 2010 season, the following Monday we were right back at work getting prepared,” standout defensive back Travis Blanks said. NFC quarterback Matt Dobson also stated, “We’ve had a very long off-season, so it feels great to get back out here… The energy and enthusiasm is really up among the players.”
