4Q GAMENIGHT Game of the Week: FAMU High vs East Gadsden
After an exciting first half the FAMU High Baby Rattlers have upset the East Gadsden Jaguars 26 – 20. The Baby Rattlers used an effective rushing attack led by RB #7 D. Harrison along with a big interception by the Baby Rattler defense in the 2nd quarter, that set up the go ahead score. After many failed attempts, East Gadsden tried to stifle the FAMU High running game in the second half, but the Jaguar offense was unable to gain any rhythm.
East Gadsden managed to make things interesting late in the 4th quarter. After a clock eating FAMU High scoring drive, The Jaguars drove nearly the length of the field in a matter of seconds to come within a touchdown. The ensuing onside kick was recovered by FAMU high and ended East Gadsden’s hopes of a late rally.

West Gadsden High 2009 Team Preview
West Gadsden High Mascot: Panthers
Class 1A District 2
2008 Record 8-2
District 7-0
Head Coach: Antonio Bradwell
Team 2009 Outlook : At the beginning of the of the 2008 season no one had any idea that Coach Bradwell’s squad was prepared to have a 8-2 season. This year, like last, the verdict is still out. Replacing All-American defensive tackle Gary Brown and QB Antonio Bostic will be tough. This year’s version of the Panthers has our voters somewhere in the middle, thinking if it’s possible or not to repeat the success of last year. Newcomer WR La Rico Dickey and FB Dustin Chason will have to carry an inexperience group this fall.
Strengths: Team speed and athleticism

West Gadsden at War Eagle 7on7
Weakness: Team youth
Players to Watch: FB Dustin Chason, WR La Rico Dickey, LB Charles Shaw, S Darrion Lowery, CB Marcus Horne

Prediction: 6-4

4Quartersonline Preseason Ranking 10-7

7
7. Florida High (Seminoles) 67pts:
The ‘Noles are have been a consistent 2b stalwart force in the playoffs, and it shouldn’t be any different this season. The voters really thought highly of this team. With one of the states best kickers in Chase Vandoffs on offense and what looks to be one of the best secondaries in the Tallahassee area, the Noles are poised to win their share of close games. Coach Hickman always has a few surprises up his sleeve. Opponents beware. They could move up the rankings by season’s end.

8
8. FAMU (Baby Rattler) 59 pts:
The 2009 version of the Baby Rattlers are an interesting group, with the loss of college signees RB Donte Payne (North Carolina A&T, LB Willie Ferrell (FAMU) and Alex Williams (Ole Miss). The Rattlers won’t look the same. The voters felt with 9 returners on offense and 5 on defense, FAMU should be as good or better than last season, despite the losses. With QB Mike Melvin, RB Jordan Stanley, WR Leonard Barrington and OL Ian Howard, the offense should be explosive. The defense will be lead by SS Breil Hill, DE Alex Watson,DT Issac Manning and DT Derrick Holmes.

8
8. Wakulla (War Eagles) 59pts:
The War Eagles were a playoff team, last season, in a tough 3A district. After making the move up to class 4A, the task has gotten a little tougher. Head Coach Scott Klees and his staff have their work cut out for them, by playing the likes of Lincoln and Leon in district 3. The success of the offense will depend on the efforts of OL John Cooper, RB Lorenzo Randolph along with a host of young players who are expected to contribute. On the defensive side of the ball, LB Tyler Schmidt and FS Antonio Kilpatrick will have to take charge.

10
10. West Gadsden (Panthers) 55pts:
At the beginning of the of the 2008 season no one had any idea that Coach Bradwell’s squad was prepared to have a 8-2 season.

Tallahassee Area 2009 District Predictions 1A
4Quartesonline Staff
Class: 1A - DISTRICT: 2
1.Port St. Joe
2.West Gadsden ( Greensboro )
3. Liberty County ( Bristol )
4.Blountstown
5.Wewahitchka
6. Franklin County (Eastpoint)
This is a two team race between Port St Joe and West Gadsden. Both are 2008 playoff participants and have lots of talent. Look for the Sharks to slip past the Panthers in 2009 .
DISTRICT: 3
1. North Florida Christian ( Tallahassee )
2. Trinity Christian ( Jacksonville )
3. Eagle’s View ( Jacksonville )
4. Providence ( Jacksonville )
5. Bishop Snyder ( Jacksonville )
6. P.K. Yonge ( Gainesville )
How do you pick against the defending 1A champs? You can’t! The NFC Eagles will not roll through the district with a physical Trinity Christian team to contend with. NFC has the edge because of home field advantage this year; however they will need to bring their “A” game.
